The University of Sheffield, UK is inviting applications for its MSc Psychological Research Methods with Data Science course starting in September 2022.
Bringing together hands-on training in the latest research techniques with courses in computational data analysis, this course has been developed to enable psychology students to make the transition to data scientist status.
The course will train you in the most commonly applied quantitative methods, including multilevel modeling, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, as well as the skills to know when to apply these techniques and how to interpret the results.
It will teach you the skills you need and give you the opportunity to apply them to the area of psychology that interests you: from cognitive and developmental psychology to social and clinical psychology.
Alongside your data science training, you will learn a wide range of research techniques ranging from neuroimaging (EEG, fMRI), behavioral genetics, experimental methodologies and clinical trial design, qualitative interviewing , journal study methodologies and specialized methods for working with infants, children. and clinical populations.
Eligibility – Holders of a three-year/four-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% or “first class” from a recognized university, or equivalent, in psychology or a related discipline.
Evidence of undergraduate training in Statistics for Psychology is also required.
