Leede Research co-founder looks back on 40 years in the business
Leede Research recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Dean Halverson tells Seehafer News that he started the company in June 1982, shortly after graduating from LTC’s marketing program.
He said it was a small business at first.
“We literally started in the basement of my mom’s house,” he called back. “She was kind enough to build an office area in the basement. She actually bought out one of my first partners and became a full partner in the business. In fact, she was one of our first employees. She and a few ladies from the senior center were among our first people on the phone.
Leede is a combination of three Lees and a Dean, the original founders of the marketing research company.
Halverson said “Simply put, our job is to help our customers make decisions. In doing so, they identify a need for information. It can be a product, a service, understanding their customers, how their advertising works, and our job is to design and implement a program to get the information they need to make decisions around this element.
Halverson also told us that Leede has grown into a team of more than 50 information professionals with offices in Manitowoc and Minneapolis.
Their customers come from the United States and around the world.
He explained that they gathered the majority of their information through telephone interviews until the early 2000s when needs started to change and more work shifted to online interviews.
