•Southern Glazer’s announced the retirement of Steve Harden, Executive Vice President and General Manager, California, effective January 1. A 33-year veteran of the business, Harden has held various sales positions of increasing responsibility at Southern Glazer’s, including General Manager of Northern California and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Northern California. Prior to his most current role, he served as Executive Vice President, Sales, California. An announcement of Harden’s replacement will be forthcoming.

• Walsh Whiskey’s The Irishman range of Irish whiskeys has been relaunched with updated packaging across the brand’s portfolio. The new look and new bottles were designed by London design agency Here and are the result of a $500,000 investment by Walsh Whiskey. Beyond the tall, tapered new bottle, Walsh has rebranded the Irishman Founder’s Reserve as Harvest and added a Caribbean Rum Cask expression to the Irishman’s core lineup. The Irishman’s redesigned packaging is rolling out across the United States.

• Beverage e-commerce company Drinks has partnered with internet commerce platform Shopify. The partnership will introduce a system for wineries and liquor retailers to integrate tax and compliance calculations into a Shopify-powered transaction. It will be available to Shopify Plus tier merchants at launch through the Drinks app. The innovation aims to streamline parts of beverage sales regulations that can hinder direct-to-consumer sales. Customers will also have access to Drinks’ in-house retention and growth agency, Electriq, to ​​help them start, manage and grow DTC sales.
